SlitherDripShake
SlitherDripShake is an installation composed of found objects (plumbing pipes, vacuum cleaner parts, branches), combined with layers of synthetic and organic material (bacterial cellulose, clay, latex, synthetic rubber). In the face of a global politics of unfettered consumption and waste, the serpentine, slithering, and dripping creatures of SlitherDripShake are born from assemblages of discarded materials that, in spite of their futility under a capitalist hierarchy, vibrate with mysterious agencies. Objects that once sucked, transported, and excreted are reanimated as moving bodies, whose anatomy recalls intestines, shedding skins, and exuding viscosities, evoking processes of digestion and transformation.
